Be Good to Yourself

  • Enjoy the Process

Getting organized is a clarifying, cleansing                    way of connecting to what's important to you.

  • Work with Your Natural Habits

Observe where your piles tend to accumulate,              and create storage there.

  • Tackle the Little Things

Sometimes minor changes can make an                          enormous difference.  Just start off by

conquering one closet, your briefcase, or                       your purse.

  • Remove the Obstacles

Untangle the clutter that's standing between                you and the productive, fulfilling life that you                crave.

  • Fuel Your Creativity

Getting Organized will free you to express

         your talents more fully.

  • Forgive Yourself

We all make occasional purchases that turn                  out to be wrong for us.  Give those things to                  someone who will enjoy them.

  • Improve Your Quality of Life

Give yourself access to the things you use                      and love by getting rid of the stuff you don't.

What to do

  • SPACE Formula

Sort - see what you have.  Purge - keep only                 what you use and love.  Assign - make a home             for everything.  Containerize - separate and               beautify.  Equalize - refine and maintain.

  • Create Space

Send your dormant possessions back out                     into the world for use.

  • Ponder New Purchases

Before buying anything new, ask yourself                    "Where will I store this?"

  • Repair It or Toss It

If something has been lying around your                       house waiting to be fixed for over a year,                     commit to repairing it within the next week,                 or, let it go.

  • Think of the Money

Letting go of unused items can put extra cash             in your pocket.  Donate them for the tax                       deduction, or resell them at a garage sale or               consignment shop.

  • Create a Treasure Box

Some memorabilia is a wonderful treat, but                 too much is overwhelming.  Turn a beautiful               trunk into a treasure box, and keep only what             will fit inside.

  • Focus on the Reward

If you put something in its proper place, you'll             feel so good when you go to look for it, and,                 it's there.
